What we do
Westminster Area Lacrosse. WAX is a youth program for beginners and experienced players. WAX provides an instructional program for boys and girls ages 5-6. This age group is called Pockets. Boys and Girls ages 7-8 play in a Carroll County League with limited travel. This age group is called Tykers. Boys and Girls ages 9-14 (ages 9-10 are Lightning, 11-12 are Midgets, and 13 -14 Juniors) will compete in MYLA (MARYLAND YOUTH LACROSSE ASSOCIATION). WAX is a member of the Westminster Area Recreation Council, and operates through the Carroll County Department of Recreation and Parks.
Our Mission
To ensure a unified and responsive organization that develops and promotes the sport by providing services to its players and families in an effort to inspire participation, while preserving the integrity of the game.
We can't fully live up to the mission without our members help and support. We realize that the Westminster Area Lacrosse program will always have room for improvement. We have been able to achieve unprecedented success with respect to our program as a result of the support from our coaches, volunteers, families and players.
Westminster Area Lacrosse is a member of the Westminster Area Recreation Council, as well as the Friends of Carroll Parks and Recreation, a 501 c(3). We are supported by the member volunteers of WAX, and operate under the supervision of the Carroll County Department of Recreation and Parks.
