Below on this page are important links for background checks, concussion, AED and more.

Background Check Information:

Coaches / Volunteers,

As required per Carroll County Recreation and Parks, anyone voluteering to be a coach, assistant coach, team parent, or other volunteering status needs to have an active badge and up to date background check.  If you have one, please review it and see if you are valid until the end of our Spring Season (June 2024).

If you need to obtain this ID and background check, please click the link below and fill out the information.  I believe there is a place where it asks you to email a photo for the badge or they will email you in a few days.  We operate under the Westminster Area Rec Council and our Program name is Westminster Area Lacrosse.

Sports Concussion Training for Coaches:

You can help protect our young players from the dangers of concussions. This starts with you.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) offers a no cost online training course. This training takes about 45 minutes to complete and is highly recommended for all coaches and volunteers to attend. The training will explain what a concussion is along with the dangers of it, how to identify concussion signs and symptoms, understand what a player should do prior to returning to playing again, and preventative actions you as a coach can take.

Use the link below to learn more about the training. Click the For Coaches option to launch the course when ready.

Automatic Electronic Defibulator (AED) Information:

WAX continues to keep the safety of its players, volunteers, spectators, and more at the top of mind. In an effort to increase this level of safety, WAX has three AEDs available at the main game fields. Prior to the start of the season, it is highly recommended that all coaches and volunteers complete AED training offered by Save a Life organization.
